Data Privacy Policy
The operation of this Moodle learning platform is the responsibility of the Master Project Management Data Science programme office of HTW Berlin, Treskowallee 8, 10318 Berlin.
In addition to the provisions listed in our general privacy policy, the following general conditions apply to the use of this procedure.
The Moodle learning platform with the content and courses offered therein are part of the studies at HTW Berlin and complement courses in terms of content and organization:
- Provision and retrieval of material
- communication
- Submission and assessment of course work
- Taking exams
- Organization and documentation of processes
To use the aforementioned services, registration with the HTW account is required.
The data is stored in the following manner for the above-mentioned purpose:
Posted contributions, messages, evaluations and information on learning progress are stored in the system and used to provide individual functions. Log data including the HTW account used and IP addresses are only visible to administrators. Course administrators (teachers) can see lists of participants in courses, times of completed work (submissions, forum posts, tests), information on learning progress, and the names and e-mail addresses of users. Students are shown the times of forum contributions, submissions of group tasks, information on learning progress and lists of participants in their own courses
Purpose limitation of the data
We will only use your data for the purpose stated above. The collected data may also be analyzed anonymously for the purpose of improving course offerings.
Categories of data processed
- general personal data (requested via directory service (LDAP) and displayed in the profile and participant lists)
- personal data can be supplemented in the profile by voluntary information (interests, research focus, contact details). This information can be removed at any time by the respective user.
- Course enrollment data (retrieved via LSF-Moodle-Connector and used for course assignment in the Moodle learning platform and for display in the user profile)
- Learning progress data (used to provide individual functions in the Moodle learning platform)
Retention periods
The data in your user profile will be stored until the user profile is deleted. Data from course participation will be stored until the course is deleted. Results from tests, learning packages, assignments and data on the completion of the course and the overall assessment are stored until the expiry of legal retention obligations.
Third-party services
We use third-party services to organize the course of study. These are, among others, providers that are based outside the EU. In order to facilitate our organization, we therefore require your consent in accordance with Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO.
The responsible body within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (Art. 4 (7) DSGVO) is the Berlin University of Applied Sciences, 10313 Berlin (https://www.htw-berlin.de/impressum/).

According to Art. 15 EU-DSGVO, you have the right to receive information free of charge about whether personal data of your own person is being processed, and if so, what personal data is involved. If the data is incomplete or incorrect, you have a right to rectification (Art. 16 EU-DSGVO.) In addition, Art. 17 EU-DSGVO ensures you the right to erasure if the reason for processing has ceased to exist, or if no legal regulation (e.g. retention obligations) is opposed. Please note that deletion of your data before the expiry of the deletion period will not allow us to process subsequent requests from you without additional information and effort. There is also a right to restriction of processing (18 EU-DSGVO) and a right to data portability (Art. 20 EU-DSGVO). Der Betrieb dieser Moodle Lernplattform Moodle liegt in der Fachverantwortung des Studiengangs Master Project Management Data Science der HTW Berlin, Treskowallee 8, 10318 Berlin.
Ergänzend zu den in unserer allgemeinen Datenschutzerklärung aufgeführten Bestimmungen gelten für die Verwendung dieses Verfahrens folgende Rahmenbedingungen.
Die Lernplattform Moodle mit den darin angebotenen Inhalten und Kursen sind Teil des Studiums an der HTW Berlin und ergänzen Lehrveranstaltungen inhaltlich und organisatorisch:
- Bereitstellen und Abrufen von Material
- Kommunikation
- Abgabe und Bewertung von Studienleistungen
- Ablegen von Prüfungen
- Organisation und Dokumentation von Prozessen
Zur Nutzung der genannten Dienste ist die Anmeldung mit dem HTW-Account notwendig.
Die Daten werden zum oben genannten Zweck in folgender Art und Weise gespeichert:
Verfasste Beiträge, Mitteilungen, Bewertungen und Angaben zum Lernfortschritt werden im System gespeichert und für die Bereitstellung individueller Funktionen genutzt. Logdaten inklusive dem genutzten HTW-Account und IP-Adressen sind nur für Administratoren sichtbar. Kursverantwortlichen (Lehrenden) werden Teilnehmerlisten von Lehrveranstaltungen, Zeitpunkte von erbrachten Leistungen (Abgaben, Forenbeiträge, Tests), Angaben zum Lernfortschritt und Namen und E-Mail-Adressen von Nutzer_innen angezeigt. Studierenden werden Zeitpunkte von Forenbeiträgen, Einreichungen von Gruppenaufgaben, Angaben zum Lernfortschritt und Teilnehmerlisten der eigenen belegten Kurse angezeigt.
Zweckbindung der Daten
Wir werden Ihre Daten nur für den oben genannten Zweck verwenden. Die erhobenen Daten können darüber hinaus anonymisiert zum Zweck der Verbesserung der Kursangebote ausgewertet werden.
Verarbeitete Datenkategorien
- allgemeine Personendaten (per Verzeichnisdienst (LDAP) angefragt und im Profil und Teilnehmerlisten angezeigt)
- die Personendaten können im Profil durch freiwillige Angaben ergänzt werden (Interessen, Forschungsschwerpunkte, Kontaktangaben). Diese Angaben können jederzeit durch die jeweiligen Nutzer_innen wieder entfernt werden.
- Belegungsdaten (per LSF-Moodle-Connector abgefragt und zur Zuordnung zu Kursen in der Lernplattform Moodle und zur Anzeige im Nutzerprofil verwendet)
- Lernfortschrittsdaten (zur Bereitstellung individueller Funktionen in der Lernplattform Moodle verwendet)
Aufbewahrungsfristen
Die Daten in Ihrem Nutzerprofil werden bis zur Löschung des Nutzerprofils gespeichert. Die Daten aus der Teilnahme des Kurses werden bis zur Löschung des Kurses gespeichert. Ergebnisse aus Tests, Lernpaketen, Aufgaben und Daten zum Abschluss des Kurses und der Gesamtbewertung werden bis zum Ablauf gesetzlicher Aufbewahrungspflichten aufbewahrt.
Dienste Dritter
Für die Organisation des Studienablaufes nutzen wir Dienste Dritter. Hierbei handelt es sich unter anderem um Anbieter, die Ihren Sitz außerhalb der EU haben. Um uns die Organisation zu erleichtern, benötigen wir daher Ihre Einwilligung nach Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a) DSGVO.

grant to HTW Berlin, MPMD Programme Management, its representatives and employees the
right to take photographs and audio/video recordings of me and my
property in connection with the MPMD study programme, including
video conferences and excursions. I authorize the MPMD office of HTW Berlin, its assigns and
transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or
electronically.
Erlaubnis zur Aufzeichnung und Verwendung von Foto- und Video-/Audio-Material
Ich erteile der HTW Berlin, MPMD Programm-Management, ihren Vertretern und Mitarbeitern das Recht, Fotos und Audio-/Videoaufnahmen von mir und meinem Eigentum im Zusammenhang mit dem MPMD-Studium, einschließlich Videokonferenzen und Exkursionen, zu machen. Ich ermächtige das MPMD Programm-Management der HTW Berlin, seine Bevollmächtigten und Rechtsnachfolger, diese Aufnahmen urheberrechtlich zu schützen, zu nutzen und in gedruckter und/oder elektronischer Form zu veröffentlichen.
